According to the Bible, the soul and spirit are separate entities that have different fates after physical death.
The Bible teaches that the soul is the seat of our emotions, desires, and will. It is the part of us that gives us individuality and personality.
The spirit, on the other hand, is the part of us that connects us to God. It is the part of us that seeks after God and allows us to have a relationship with Him.
When a person dies, the Bible teaches that the body returns to the earth from which it came.
Every person seeking citizenship in the kingdom of God must be clear that the imperative condition to be met is “being born again.” Remember that we had nothing to do with our first birth… thus, it is simple to understand that we will have nothing to do with the 2nd birth. IT’S ALL THE WORK OF GOD. We enter by Faith, we continue by FAITH, and we LIVE by Faith — nothing less – nothing more. The question is what does it mean to be born again (BA) and how is that accomplished.
To answer questions of the Word of God we always begin with letting the Word of God answer for itself. FAITH is the key. Believe God’s HOLY, DIVINE, Sovereign, impeccable Word and God will Reward you.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
(Heb 11:6)
Scripture clearly suggests what needs to become a daily habit in Psalm 1:1 i.e., “to meditate on God’s word DAY AND NIGHT.” Only this kind of meditation using all the tools of contemporary convention will have the result you seek.
TO BE BORN AGAIN…
Being born again is the term that is used in the Bible to refer to the spiritual transformation that takes place when an individual accepts Jesus Christ as their savior and commits their life to following him. This transformation is referred to as “being born again” (being born a second time which is a spiritual birth) because it involves a complete change in one’s heart and mind, and a new start in life. It is a deeply personal and transformative experience that will have a significant impact on an individual’s life and the way they live it. This is what Jesus was trying to get Nicodemous to understand in St. John 3:3 & 3:16 – the absolute need for a new birth.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(St. John 3:3 & 3:16)
One of the key differences between being born again and living an ordinary life is that the person born again completely surrenders to God. The word of God has a lot to say about ordinary life, (the world, flesh and the devil). This means that an individual who has been born again is no longer living for themselves, but rather for the purpose of serving God and spreading the good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God through whom the world might be redeemed. This shift in focus and behavior will have a profound impact on the way an individual thinks, speaks, and acts, as they seek to live in a way that is pleasing to God.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
(Gal. 2:20)
The primary difference between being born again and living an ordinary life is that being born again involves a deep and ongoing relationship with God. This relationship is not just a one-time event, but rather a continual process of growth and development as an individual seeks to grow closer to God and become more like him. This involves reading and studying the Bible, praying, and seeking fellowship with other believers. (Ps. 1:1) It also involves being obedient to God’s will and following his commands, even when it is difficult or goes against one’s own desires.
Being born again also involves a change in one’s values and priorities. For believers becoming a Christian means putting their faith and relationship with God above all else, including their own personal desires and goals. This will involve making significant changes in one’s life, such as leaving behind unhealthy relationships or career paths, in order to better align with God’s will for their life.
Therefore, being born again is a transformative experience that involves a complete surrender to God, a deepening relationship with him, and a change in values and priorities. It is a journey that requires a lifetime of commitment and effort, but the rewards are immeasurable as one grows closer to God and experiences the fullness of life that he offers. The new birth begins with “repentance’ let me explain….
BORN AGAIN… So What now? Is this a magical event? Everything is supposed to be alright. You’ll soon discover being born again doesn’t work like that, you see ‘WHEN I WAS A CHILD, I THOUGHT LIKE A CHILD… After accepting Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord plus being baptized somewhere in the late 1950’s, I entered the real challenges of life, “doing the right thing.”
Sunday school, BYPU gave me the answers to the most important question but it wasn’t enough to satisfy my desire for more spiritual resolutions. I had to decide if the whole Bible was true or just some parts were true. …WHEN I BECAME A MAN, I PUT AWAY CHILDISH THINGS.
